What Saturday looked like at BSF By Jason Bailey on Sunday, April 06, 2003

I woke up at about 7:00 Saturday morning and stuck my finger out the door and promptly loaded up the old wet suit into the gig box. It was looking like it was going to be a fairly cold one and overcast also. I Got over to Anthony’s house and noticed that the weather was looking about 10 degrees warmer down there at the state line. I’m up for that( maybe I won’t need the wet suit). And that’s how it began that morning.

After getting all the peeps together at the target at hamburg the crew was set… We had Mike and Bryan from Lou and recent re-member Todd Burris(yes that’s right another Todd). We also had Todd Garland, Anthony and myself. The crew and gear were set soins we tore out for the BSF…..

After getting to the put-in for the canyon and making a gear drop Todd G and Mike went to go tackle the new addition to the take-out.

Whats that in the road up there honey?
I have more pictures of this rock, it seems that the locals may have actually been spray-painting it as it was smearing trees out going down the hill. Well needless to say we had two 4X4’s and the shuttle went off without a hitch.
As it turned out that day we had incredible weather and water temperature. Fun Fun Fun… Here is a picture Todd Surfing whilst Todd looks on.
Who is that guy with the clashing PFD?
Notice the grace of Anthony’s Alpha Retardo stance(element of ancient “Paddle Fu”)
Here’s a picture of Todd Buris(inside out man)tearin it up in his XXX, Hey man, your dry-top’s inside out….
I didn’t get any pictures of Mike on the water but he and Bryan were both paddling those Spuddy G-forces’.
Out of all the pictures I got that day I just had to add this one. What a beautiful day….

Lower Bald River Falls

Photo I took of Lower Bald River Falls which comes into the Tellico. The photo is of a Michigan paddler named Rob with whom I ran lower Bald River Falls. The Falls drops into the Tellico. He and I ran it on a recent trip to the Tellico with Valerie/Ben Askren, and another Michigan open boater.

Film Festival 2004

The National Paddling Film Festival
by Corran Addison

Firstly David Morgavage contacts me and asks if I'll host the event. After the great appearance Scott Lindgren put in, I was thinking "now those are some shoes to fill". But hell, why not.
