"NOT-NPFF 2018 is a BIG GO for this Saturday 4/28/18. Not only will the weather and water level be perfect, Metallica will be headlining followed by The Willie Nelson laser show. Don’t miss out!!!

Even if you already registered, let’s start from scratch and do it again. There’s a link at the bottom of this post.

Be at the take-out (AW Acres) at 10:30 a.m. for check-in which includes signing of a waiver. Racer’s meeting is at high-noon immediately followed by shuttle to the put-in.

4/24/2018 UPDATE: Yes Canoe Kentucky is helping with shuttle! Thank you Nathan! Canoe Kentucky has been a long time supporter so let’s show them support in return!

If you're comfortable with dropping your boat at the put-in before coming down to AW acres that would be helpful.

DON’T PARK AT THE PUT-IN! There’s not enough room!

DON’T PARK AT SAUFLEY’S: This area is needed for all the time keepers and other volunteers who are helping make this race happen. Park here and be scorned. This is the finish line. After finishing continue paddling to AW Acres.

Prizes for the winners are what YOU bring! Prizes will be awarded to the top boater babe, top guy, fastest “short boat” defined as any boat under 10 ft., top senior citizen (60 and over), top C-1, and the top competitor in whatever class you fools come up with (raft, shredder, OC-1, OC-2, hand paddles, playboat, SUP, etc.). I want to stress that the fastest lady AND the fastest “short boat” defined as any boat under 10 feet will get one of the major prizes donated. Please don’t forget your own personal donation. The more prizes the better! Examples of good prizes are a bottle of KY distilled beverage, other fine brewskies, kayak gear, gift certificates to local outfitters, a single beer, etc." --Jim Gunn

It was a beautiful race day with water in the creek and we had just over 30 registered racers. I don't have the official results...maybe someone can get those from Justin and post them. Unfortunately the BWA did not have a good showing - it was all Vikings across the finish line first.
Dan Spitler won with Justin right behind him - both in long race boats.
I believe Justin McDaniel was the top BWA finisher and also first overall out of the Stinger/GreenBoat/KarmaUL boats (it was all Speeders and longer sea kayaks in front).
And of course, our own KY Jim won the brick award because he just couldn't resist stopping to surf a few times...
